Token Vault FAQ

Common questions

Everything you need to know about Token Vault.

What is tokenization?

Tokenization replaces sensitive card numbers with unique, non-reversible tokens. The original card data is encrypted and stored securely in the vault, while your systems only handle the token.

How does this reduce my PCI compliance burden?

Because sensitive card data never touches your servers, your PCI scope is dramatically reduced. Most merchants using Token Vault qualify for the simplest self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ A).

Can I use tokens across different processors?

Yes. NetValve tokens are processor-agnostic. You can route a stored card through any connected acquirer without re-collecting payment details from the customer.

What happens if a stored card expires or is replaced?

NetValve supports automatic card updater services. When a card is reissued by the bank, the token is updated behind the scenes so recurring payments and saved payment methods continue working without customer intervention.
